Turley Talks & More Coming Events

You are invited to all these coming events in "Greater Turley" including north Tulsa, Sperry, Turley, and surrounding area. Spread the word.

1. OU Turley Talks. Please Help Improve The Quality of Life in Our Turley Area.
Come to “Turley Talks” with the University of Oklahoma and The Turley Community Center “A Third Place” 6514 N. Peoria Ave. 794-4637. Spread the Word To All You Know who live in, work in, shop in, have ties to our area.

A Chance to Take A Survey To Say What You Would Like to See in Our Area, to help OU identify future plans and projects for renewing our area.
Come to one or all of these events, bring family, friends, coworkers, church members

Sat. Mar. 22 be a part of the survey interviews at 2 p.m., the community Forum 3:30 p.m., and full events will take place from 10-5 (see posts below).

2. "ReTree Turley". After the continuing devastation of our area, OU students are helping us get planted again with donations of redbuds and other trees. These will be given out as part of Turley Talks on the weekend of April 4&5. Stay tuned for more details on this "ground-breaking" event just in time for Spring as our area "springs forward" in its renewal.

3. Coffee and More Mondays at the community center, "a third place," from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. A great way to Start Your Week--with coffee, company, cable TV, the Tulsa World, the New York Times, USA Today, other current magazines, free internet, WIFI, free library, bargain donation room browsing & more. We are making Mondays a little bit easier. Freewill Donations Accepted.

4. OU Turley Bedlam Medical Clinic Tuesdays 1-4 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. to Noon, A Third Place, 6514 N. Peoria Ave. Appointments call 660-3614 to get more information and to make your appointments for Tuesdays and Fridays. This is for Insured or uninsured both welcome. Full spectrum primary care. Spread the word to all who need this service in our community. Come say hello and support the presence of the clinic.

5. Turley Community Association public meeting, Tuesday, Mar. 25, 7 p.m. O'Brien Park, 61st and N. Lewis. Last tuesday of each month. Hear reports from officials, share problems and solutions.

6. Saturday April 12, 8 a.m. community breakfast at IOOF lodge, 6227 N. Quincy, freewill donations accepted.

7. Saturday, April 12, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. community benefit hotdog grill lunch, community center, "a third place" 6514 N. Peoria. Help us raise funds to keep the center going and growing.
8. The Turley/Cherokee School reunion is coming up May 31, but you need to RSVP for it as soon as possible. Go to http://www.turleyschool.org/ for all details. We will post more here soon too. To get updates contact rccoopersr@att.net. Planning meetings are held at A Third Place.

9. The community center A Third Place needs volunteers. You can get oriented as a volunteer, age 18 and up though we have some volunteering for those under 18 too, at our monthly volunteer sessions. Each First Friday and each Second Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. Call 794-4637 or email a3rdplace@aol.com for more.

10. Turley Networking Tuesdays, Every Second Tues., nex time April 8, 7 p.m. at A Third Place. All ideas Welcome. Come connect with other community supporters and activists. Plan Events Together.
11. Turley Trash-Off Community Litter Pick Up Day, Friday, May 9, 6-8 p.m. and Sat., May 10, 8 a.m. to Noon. Meet at A Third Place Community Center. Free Lunch on Saturday for volunteers.

12. Garden Fair, Sat. May 10, 1-4 p.m. A Third Place Center. Seed-Sharing, Plant-Swapping, Pot and Tool Exchange, Organic Gardening Info, Community Gardening Info.

13. Twelve-Step Alcoholics Anonymous and Other Recovery from Addictions Program Each Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at A Third Place Center.
