More Great News about the new and emerging partnership between the University of Oklahoma Graduate Social Work Department and the Turley area. It began last Spring with class assignments and now is growing as Turley has been chosen as a field experiment site for graduate students.

What: A Time To Talk About Our Area’s Strengths and Needs, Sharing Resources and Ideas and Connections
Why: Renewing Community Spirit and Involvement To Improve Quality of Life
Who: OU Social Work Graduate Students and Faculty will talk with those who live in, work in, shop in, have ties to “Greater Turley” area. This means you.
When: Saturdays, Mar. 22, April 5, April 19 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Also Friday evening, April 4, 6 to 9 p.m. Come for one hour on one day or for as much as you can, come and go, during all the days. Full Schedules below.
How: Spend an estimated one hour talking about Turley life with an OU representative, and you are invited to also participate in community forums led by OU at the end of each day’s session. These interviews will help the community connect with one another, discover partnerships on projects of interest to people in our area, learn about resources and strengths we have to offer to make our community a better place.

What Happens Next: OU will report back its findings and identify possible future projects to work on with Turley leaders and groups to keep the relationship between OU and Turley alive and growing, and Turley residents can use the forums to connect people with current community projects and prepare for future projects on our own.

OU-Turley Bedlam Medical Clinic Begins Tue. Feb. 5
Great News. The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Bedlam Medical Clinic will begin in Turley at the community center A Third Place, 6514 N. Peoria Ave. This "full doctor's office on wheels" will be here on Tuesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to Noon beginning Feb. 5. Walk-ins are welcome. It is for insured and uninsured. It is full primary care with ability to refer to all specialties and all hospitals in the area. To reserve an appointment and to find out more information, call 660-3614. We also have patient registration information and brochures about the clinic at A Third Place. To pick them up call us at 794-4637 or 691-3223 and come by the Center. Spread the word about this important new service in the Greater Turley area of north Tulsa, Turley, Sperry, and surroundings.
